Description
Metastases are "secondary deposits" or "extensions" of tumors affecting other organs. The mechanism of a tumor cell "nesting" or invading other organs is unknown.
Symptoms
One of the main problems of hepatic metastases and biliary ducts caused by a colorectal tumor is that they are normally asymptomatic so periodical revisions after suffering a previous tumor are essential. CMED specialists will program your visits to digestive specialists and oncologists.

The liver is one of the organs most affected by metastasis when a patient has suffered colorectal tumor but also one which accepts most treatments. At present, treatment of hepatic metastasis is multidisciplinary and includes surgery, oncology and radiology. With the combination of these three specialties, long survival is achieved and even in some cases, complete cure.
In CMED we make the most of the experience of our surgeons of hepatic surgery and transplant to surgically approach the metastases even in the most complicated cases.
